Advisory Council
The A12AA Advisory Council consists of over 25 members based on the current population in each county. The Council advises the A12AA on matters relating to the development and administration of the delivery of services to age 60+ individuals. It also advises the Agency on matters relating to the developing of objectives in the Area Plan. An involved Council provides the A12AA access to the views and insights regarding specific services for the age 60+ adults from their communities. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors from their respective counties. They contribute many volunteer hours and act as advocates for the interests of age 60+ adults both locally and at the State level.
The Council is strengthened by the diversity of its membership. Four counties are represented, thus broadening the Council’s capacity to serve and benefit the entire adult age 60+ population of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne Counties. One of the most useful functions of the Advisory Council is to gather and distribute information. An effective Council is made up of both consumers of services and representatives of agencies who deliver services to the age 60+ community.
The Advisory Council meets regularly the 3rd Monday of every other month. For specific times and places, please check the Event Calendar page.
