Funded by the Older Americans Act, the Nutrition Program provides eligible older adults a nutritionally balanced meal at Senior Centers and various satellite sites. Meals are served by a network of providers located throughout A12AA’s Planning Service Area. For a list of providers and dining sites, see Funded Partners. The primary target population for the nutrition program is older adults 60+, in Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa and Tuolumne Counties, who are in greatest social-economic need and would benefit from a nutritional meal.
Congregate Nutrition Program
The Congregate Nutrition Centers offer a daily nutritional meal to adults 60+ years and their spouses, socialization opportunities, exercise, nutrition education, and a variety of other life-enhancing programs.
Home Delivered Meal Program
To qualify for the Home Delivered Meal Program, a person must be at least 60 years of age or older or the spouse of an age 60+ participant who resides within the PSA and has an impairment that would prevent attendance at a congregate nutrition center. To determine eligibility of a meals on wheels participant, an intake worker will visit the home and complete an assessment. If determined eligible, hot and/or frozen nutritional meals will be delivered to the older adult. For more information contact Area 12 Agency on Aging, 1-800-510-2020 or 209-532-6272.
